10K & Family Fun Run Saturday 24th May 2014 Preliminary Results Family Fun Run ReportThe Family Fun Run generated a huge response once again this year with over two hundred children and adults taking part. The winner of the 2 mile fun event was Scott Maciver of Stornoway Running and Athletics Club followed by Andrew Mackay of Stornoway Primary School. Then in a three way sprint for the line Adam Mackinnon of Tong Primary School edged ahead of both Calum Mighton and Nathan Mackay to take third place. The first of the girls across the line was SRACs Joanna Gillies followed by two younger runners with great future potential. Gemma Macritchie of Lionel Primary School picked up second place with Hannah Mayers of Shawbost Primary School in third. Fastest School in the West trophy was awarded to Tong Primary School for the first time. And with lots of happy smiling faces crossing the line there were ample reminders that as far as the Fun Run is concerned it was certainly the taking part that counted! Well done to all involved.

There will be awards for first, second and third males and females, winning team, male and female veterans, and the first local male and female runners. 2014 Half Marathon Categories: 1st, 2nd and 3rd male 2014 10K Categories: 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male Winning team (best combined time of the first 3 runners from the team regardless of gender) Please note only one prize will be awarded per runner, eg if a V40 runner finishes 2nd they will be awarded the 2nd place trophy and the first V40 outside the top three will receive the V40 prize.The only exception to this will be the local prizes which will be awarded even if they have won another trophy. Veteran runners will receive the awards in their own category only, so even if a V45 finishes ahead of a V35 they will receive the V45 trophy. Hebridean Three-Race Challenge The Stornoway Half Marathon forms part of the Hebridean Three Race Challenge. Runners who take part in three out of five Half Marathons; Stornoway, Benbecula, Isle of Skye, Isle of Barra and Isle of Harris will receive a special commemorative memento, and there will be team and individual prizes across the series.
