Feirioshal, SeaforthHead, 320m / 5km:
9 individuals turned out for Real Whackey Race 2 in almost perfect conditions apart from a little ice on the hill. Marshalling covered provided on the Knoll between the 2 main summits by the organiser who was too ill to run. An excellent vantage point to view all the proceedings, however due to a technical problem could only record Duncan and Anesti’s times at the summit.
On the day youth(Duncan) triumphed over experience(Anesti), but it was great to watch Anesti chase Duncan all the way round, particularly on the descent. Interesting splits for MacRury senior, showing how much is really in the descending and strong times overall. I assume I will see even more people for the next ‘Real Whackey Race’ as more of the islands runners are restored to sanity and come to realise for themselves that the true path to Vallhallah lies on the hills, not the roads or the track.
Thanks for the Support
