Club sessions are being well attended at the moment with a large upsurge in numbers attending of all abilities in seniors. As all abilities are catered for at these session why not come along? Feel free to come along to a session any time, check out our facebook page or drop us an email.

Junior Training

Saturday 10.30am

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the popularity of the junior sessions we are now introducing a waiting list for new starters. Please email the membership secretary to find out more.

Junior Saturday morning session for age 8+ (cost £1.50).

From late March to September meet at the Stornoway Sports Centre track.

From October to early March meet at the Porter's Lodge in the Castle Grounds for cross country training.

Please be on time for a prompt 10.30 to 12:00 session - remember to bring kit, drinks. If you are wanting to buy kit, please check out the kit pages. Sections along foot of Golf Course


Tuesday 6pm

Older juniors (u13+) track session. Cost £1.50.

Thursday 5pm

Jumps and throws session at the track.

Monday and Tuesday evening


Adult sessions are now on a Monday at the Smith Avenue track (6.00) and the cost per track session is £3.00 for adults (£2 SRAC members) and on Tuesdays £1.50 older juniors - u13 and upwards.

Thursday evening Senior Thursday session Late Oct to Mar meeting place is Smith Avenue Changing Rooms (near all-weather football pitch) for road runs and from Late March to early Oct meet at Porter's Lodge for Castle grounds running. All are welcome and be ready for a 6pm start and there is no cost.

Once a month from October to March there is a winter series race, open to all adults, that generally takes the place of a Thursday training session.

Leisure Running Group

We also have our massively successful leisure running group which was started back in February 2012. The purpose of the group is to allow people to get together, have a bit of a laugh and build up a bit of fitness along the way!

We cater for ALL abilities! Over the months we have developed 'sub training groups' within the group where YOU as the athlete can choose which group you wish to fit into and train with, they range from total beginners who have never ran before and just need a bit of encouragement and other people to run with to a more advanced group that are looking to develop their fitness and maybe work towards a running event!
