Wacky Race 2 Results – Season 2022/23
Race 2 results and points table are here – Wacky Race 2 Results
Well done to all of the racers that took part on a classic blustery wacky night on a classic wacky route, the return of the Isle FM loops! Sarah Mackay took the win by a good distance, ahead of race 1 winner Donald Caskie and Finlay Macleod making his wacky debut. However, a rare occurrence meant the Murdo Maciver was actually top scorer on the night with 21! Sixth place giving him 16 points and a bonus 5 for being one of the three runners closet to their predicted time.
Caskie remains top of the league after the two races, with Scott Matheson moving up to second. Matthew and Martha are in a tie for third, but it’s all so close everything is still up for grabs!
Massive well done to everyone that took part, 36 in total. The next race will be on Saturday 17th December – the Xmas Handicap! See here for more details and make sure to get in touch with your route choice https://srac.org.uk/wackyraces/

Well done to everyone that took part in the first Wacky Race of the season! We had 44 racers in total. Extra well done to the first three charging over the line Donald Caskie, Brenda and Chis. First racer making their Wacky debut was Matthew. Caskie takes the early lead in the table but it’s a loooong way to go, next race should be on Thursday 24th November at 5.30pm. It will be a street route in the town, route to be confirmed. Details will be emailed round and posted here a week or so before – srac.org.uk/wackyraces/
(Chris, Brenda, Caskie & Matthew with their prizes)
Also Great to have our Gerald taking part virtually in Linz again…
(Gerald’s stunning route down the Danube… almost as nice as the Creed!)
Big thanks to Murdo for marking the route, Scott Engine Ear for sorting the handicaps and results and Wendy for helping at the finish!

As with everything else in the running world at the moment we have cancelled next week’s Wacky Race 6 – the final race in the series. But with good news in short supply these days we bring you some as we have crowed some worthy champions based on the results after race 5!
Huge kudos and virtual round of applause to Sandra Kennedy who is the 2019/20 Champion! Here she is receiving her trophy and the Hallowed Wacky Race shield from Scott Engineer Ear (who maintained the recommended safe distance)
Second place goes to Richard Galloway!
Third place to Marina Sinclair!
Massive well done to you all, reward for fantastic running and consistent improvement throughout the series! Kudos to coach Louise too 😉 Sandra’s win also makes it three in a row for the ladies joining Adrienne and Laura in the Wacky Hall of Fame.
Also special mention for Sandra, Richard, Ian Ferris, Valerie Hamilton, Scott Engine Ear and Gordon Kennedy for completing all 5 races. And thanks to every single one of you, 75 in total, that Wacky Raced this year.
