SRAC Christmas Handicap & Wacky Race 3 results

The SRAC Christmas Handicap took place on Saturday 21 December with the race also doubling up as race 3 in the Wacky Race series. There was another great turnout of 38 runners with excellent running conditions, apart from the soggy bog up Willowglen!

The winner of both the SRAC handicap and Wacky Race 3 was Keith Bray who has a storming run, followed home by Ali Henderson and Willie Mitchell. Well done guys!

Keith also took over the no 1 spot at the top of the Wacky Race leaderboard, jumping ahead of Susan Murray and Richard Galloway who despite their 1 point scores are still in very strong positions. Diane Morrison and Catherine Campbell also made big strides up the table with their excellent points hauls, former champ Adrienne had another solid score and is well in contention too. Despite finishing 5th Valerie Hamilton was top points scorer on the day with the bonus 5 points for being one of the runners finishing closest to her predicted time giving her 22 points on the day.

Well done everyone that took part! Next race will be Thursday 30th January and most likely a 5k town route. We will email out details and update the website soon.

Wacky Race 2 results

It was another super turnout out at race 2 of the series with 44 racers taking part! Debutant John Murdo MacAulay was first over the line smashing his estimated time, with Sarah Macleod and Richard Galloway both having flyers finishing 2nd and 3rd. The conditions were perfect for fast running and it showed in the times with most folk dipping under their predicted times.

Susan Murray (not Berry) retained her top spot on the leaderboard with another fine display, but Richard’s great result has closed the lead to just 2 points! Gerry also had a solid run and kept his 3rd place in the table. As always in Wacky Racing everything is still up for grabs, remember its your best 4 out of 6 scores that count in the end so even if you’re in the bottom half at the moment things can change very quickly!

Race 3 will be on the morning of Saturday 21 December, we will update the website soon with details and email everyone that had taken part so far.
