Results from Wacky Race 6 and the final standings from the 2022/2023 season can be found here – Wacky Race 6 results & table

Well done to new racer Gus Grant who was first over the line on the night! But it was Dave MacDonald, 3rd on the night, that took the full 30 points and secured the Wacky Race 2022/23 title – huge well done Dave! Donald Caskie our long time leader in the series had another great run and secured 2nd overall. Martha had a stormer and actually took the most points on the night, including bonus points for being close to her handicap, this took her onto the 3rd step on the podium just pipping Wacky legend Neil.

Huge well done to all that took part and all 61 racers who took part this season! That’s goodbye from Team Wacky until the last Thursday in October enjoy your summer see you then!

Dave our Champ!

Caskie 2nd place

Martha 3rd

Well done to the hardy souls that took part in race 5 last week, despite the rubbish conditions there were brilliant times all round on what has become one of the favourite Wacky routes around the Sty Primary. Fortunately there was chocolate to put a smile on the face’s of the first three! First over the line was Sarah Mackay, closely folllowed by Donald Caskie and Neil MacRury.

Dave Macdonald has leapt to the top of the table after another great run (remember it’s your best four scores that count so some racers will start dropping points). Caskie is still right in contention though just three points behind. Wacky race legend Neil is up to third, now just ahead of Martha. Remember in Race 6 points are increased by 50% so it will be 30 for the winner, all still up for grabs!

Race 6 (the final!) should be on Thursday 30th March, look out for details in your email box a week or so before 🙂

(Caskie, Sarah and Neil with their prizes yum!)

Wacky Race 4 Results!

Wacky Race 4 Results – Season 2022/23

Race 4 results and the updated points table are here – Wacky Race 4 results

Well done to the all racers, what a perfect night we had for race 4 A+ conditions! The finish on the running track made for a really exciting end to the race and one of the closest Wacky finishes we’ve had for a while. Neil was first onto the track and it look like he might take the win but Murdo Alex came powering through, rolling back the years to take the victory by just 6 seconds. Neil just managed to hold onto second place, kicking up a few gears in the last 20 metres to hold off Dave and fast finishing Finlay. Diane also had a great haul of points finishing 8th but picking up one of the bonuses for being close to her predicted time.

Caskie had another solid score and holds onto top spot in the table but Dave’s high finish has cut his lead to just 4 points. Martha consolidated her 3rd spot in the table with another great score. Remember it is your best four scores that count and a lot of racers two good scores now, so ALL up for grabs going into the last two races!

Race 5 will be on Thursday 23rd February, more details nearer the time!

SRAC Xmas Handicap (Wacky Race 3) Results!

Huge well done to everyone that took part, click here for the results and updated table!

Lewis Macalpine was first over the line winning the hallowed handicap rosebowl! Commiserations to Murdo Alex who was the final runner across the line today taking home the traditional engraved wooden spoon for his mantlepiece.

Well done to Neil Macrury, Dave and Jonathan who were the next three over the line taking home the big points and an xmas pud. Neil’s massive 25 points is a rare one, being top scorer and one of the runners closest to their predicted time!

Caskie remains top of the table with another solid score, but Dave’s big score means he leaps up to second and is only just 8 points behind him now! Martha also had a good haul of points jumping up to third.

Race 3 should be on Thursday 26th Jan, look out for details nearer the time in your email box and here – Wacky Races | Stornoway Running & Athletics Club (srac.org.uk)

Have a great Christmas and New Year everyone!
