FIRST TRACK EVENT OF THE SEASON – THE SPRING OGM

Entry Form – SRAC May OGM EntryForm 25 March 2017 FINAL (Microsoft Word)
Entry Form  – SRAC May OGM EntryForm 25 March 2017 FINAL (PDF)

The first track event of the season, the Spring OGM will be held on Saturday 25th March ! Entries must be in no later than Tuesday 21st March, so a week today. The earlier the better though. Full details on the form.

Hopefully the rather chilly weather we have currently will have gone and we’ll have the lovely Spring sunshine of the weekend back again ! 😊

Like all of our events this is open to all – both members and non members – so encourage your friends to come along and have a go at some of the many athletics events on offer. It’s always good to see new faces.

There will also be a big contingent up from the North Uist , and the South Uist & Eriskay clubs, so it’d be great to see plenty of the SRAC red and gold on the track and field as well ! Vests will be available on the day for juniors, but please come wearing your SRAC training tops as there will unlikely be enough for all.

There are plenty of opportunities for both juniors and seniors, with a 5000m a new event specifically for the seniors. We hope to run the 5000m as an event at the rest of the track events during the season if successful, so a great chance for seniors to take part and then target new PBs as the season progresses !

So get your entries in and let’s make this a cracker to get the track season going !

A provisional timetable will be made available here over the coming days, and there will then be a finalised one provided on the Friday evening and on the day of the event.

As always we will be needing help from our club members and parents on the day, and a separate email will follow seeking your help with that.

Meantime, if you have any questions, please e-mail us on sracmembership@gmail.com,  and we’ll do our best to answer them.

Many thanks

EARLY JUNIOR SESSION WITH A DIFFERENCE THIS SATURDAY !! 1000 – 1130 ( TAKE NOTE OF THE EARLIER TIME !!!!)

EARLY JUNIOR SESSION WITH A DIFFERENCE THIS SATURDAY !!
1000 – 1130 ( TAKE NOTE OF THE EARLIER TIME !!!!)

As many of you know the WIIGA 5K is being held this Saturday to raise funds for the Western Isles team heading for the Island Games in Gotland in June.

To replace the usual SRAC Junior sessions we plan to support this great event, and the juniors will do the event with their coaches, and parent helpers and it’d be great if parents come along as well to give us a hand. The 5k can be ran or walked as people prefer.

We will meet at the earlier time of 10am in the usual way at the museum car park, gather the subs and register as normal and then the youngsters will head for the Castle Green for the start to take part in their supervised groups – coaches and parent helpers accompanying them as usual, and parents please !! , and will go round the 5k. We’ll be finished by 1130. The more parent helpers and parents there the better.

The subs for this week will then be added to the WIIGA 5k pot.

If anyone wishes to take part in the race to get an official time they will need to get a form and register, getting a number. Tomorrow is the deadline for that. See link below.

Ok, so spread the word, and we’ll see you all there sharp at 1000 on Saturday!

SENIORS – it’d be great to see lots of you there as well.

Thanks
