EARLY JUNIOR SESSION WITH A DIFFERENCE THIS SATURDAY !!
1000 – 1130 ( TAKE NOTE OF THE EARLIER TIME !!!!)
As many of you know the WIIGA 5K is being held this Saturday to raise funds for the Western Isles team heading for the Island Games in Gotland in June.
To replace the usual SRAC Junior sessions we plan to support this great event, and the juniors will do the event with their coaches, and parent helpers and it’d be great if parents come along as well to give us a hand. The 5k can be ran or walked as people prefer.
We will meet at the earlier time of 10am in the usual way at the museum car park, gather the subs and register as normal and then the youngsters will head for the Castle Green for the start to take part in their supervised groups – coaches and parent helpers accompanying them as usual, and parents please !! , and will go round the 5k. We’ll be finished by 1130. The more parent helpers and parents there the better.
The subs for this week will then be added to the WIIGA 5k pot.
If anyone wishes to take part in the race to get an official time they will need to get a form and register, getting a number. Tomorrow is the deadline for that. See link below.
Ok, so spread the word, and we’ll see you all there sharp at 1000 on Saturday!
SENIORS – it’d be great to see lots of you there as well.
The SRAC Coaches
SRAC runner Carolyn Hare won 1st lady at the Skye and Lochalsh running club series – Glenmore 10k this weekend. This course was a hilly 10k with a 500 foot ascent over a 0.8 mile section. Carolyn’s winning time was 54 mins 44 sec, in a close sprint finish. Pictured is Carolyn with her winning trophy and signed, framed Liz Mccolgan vest.
Hope everyone had a great festive period and enjoyed their time off – however, it’s time to get back to it again. Thursday training for seniors resumes this Thursday 6pm at Smith Ave changing rooms, all abilities welcome, see you there!
A Results menu has been added to the website. All race results will be added to this menu, to make it quick and easy to lookup results. The results page is currently being updated.
We are planning on adding all SRAC members individual race results to the website, including any off-Island races you run. In order to do this, we need you to provide us with your times. We are starting off with 2016 results only, we will look at adding previous years later.
SRAC Members. Please email all of your race results for 2016 to firstname.lastname@example.org
Please indicate any results that were a p.b. at the time for that distance.
