Pentland Road 10k – Saturday 4th September 2021
£8 entry fee (£6 for SA members)
Maximum of 60 entries
Runners must be at least 17 years old on race day

Registration
Pick up your race number from the Lews Castle College car park from 9am on Race day.

Race Start
The race will start at 10am. Runners will be bussed to the start line from the Lews Castle College car park, the bus will leave there at 9.40am. You are welcome to arrange your own transport to the start line, please indicate this on your registration form. We would request that your driver doesn’t return directly to town but carries on to Achmore and back around on the main road. We will have a bus seat for everyone though if this isn’t possible. You will be able to drop any excess kit you take to the start line in a car and collect this at the finish line.

Race Finish
Please avoid leaving your car close to the finish or arranging to be picked up there as space will be very limited. It is approx 1 mile through the Castle Grounds back to the College car park to collect your car – a nice cool down!

Prizegiving & Medal
There will be a medal for all finishers. Prizegiving details will be confirmed nearer the time, the prize categories are:
– 1st, 2nd, 3rd Female
– 1st, 2nd, 3rd Male
– 1st, 2nd, 3rd V40+ Female
– 1st, 2nd, 3rd V40+ Female

2021 change notes
We have made a few changes to the race for this year, including the race route, purely to make organisation really simple for our small band of volunteers. We won’t have a 5k option, we hope this isn’t too disappointing but there is a 5k race in North Lochs the weekend before and Parkrun is back! There won’t be the usual post race beer and a burger, you will get a medal instead. We hope to be back to normal in the usual Friday night in April slot next year 🙂

Race route

The 2021 route is slightly different to normal, it will be entirely on the Pentland Road itself. The race will start close to Achmore and the finish line will be before Lava’s garage. The precise start and finish lines will be confirmed before the race.

The route is point to point, with a net elevation loss, it’s designed to be very fast!

Start line

The start will be marked with a solid yellow line on the road, if traveling to the start by bus you will be dropped here. If arranging your own transport please see the location to wait below.
